Art Inspired by the Wild

My passion for wildlife has been shaped by years spent working within the safari industry and exploring the wild places of Southern Africa. Through these experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for the animals, landscapes and conservation efforts that continue to inspire my work.

Specialising in charcoal on canvas, I create original wildlife artworks inspired by Africa’s wildlife, celebrating the beauty, character and individuality of each subject. The monochromatic nature of charcoal allows me to focus on form, texture and emotion, creating pieces that invite the viewer to connect more deeply with the natural world.

Conservation lies at the heart of my work. Through every charcoal-on-canvas artwork, I hope not only to share the wonder of Africa’s wildlife, but also to contribute towards its protection by supporting organisations dedicated to preserving the species and habitats that inspire every piece I create.

Fading Into Silence, an original A1 charcoal-on-canvas African wild dog artwork by wildlife artist Tamaryn Slieker.

Fading Into Silence is an original A1 charcoal-on-canvas wildlife artwork inspired by the African wild dog, one of Africa’s most endangered predators. The fading forms in the background symbolise the gradual disappearance of a species whose decline often goes unnoticed, reminding us of the importance of protecting what still remains.

Conservation Through Art

Conservation lies at the heart of my artistic journey. The wildlife and wild places that inspire my work face increasing challenges, making their protection more important than ever.

Through my artwork, I hope to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world while contributing towards its future. Thirty percent of the purchase price of every original artwork is donated to a conservation organisation chosen by the collector from my selected conservation partners.

By collecting wildlife art, supporters become part of a broader mission to celebrate and safeguard the species that continue to inspire every piece I create.
